Dallas Law Firm Announces Name Change

Dallas, Texas-based Barrett, Burke, Wilson, Castle, Daffin & Frappier, LLP, is announcing some major changes—one of which is the official change of the law firm’s name to Barrett, Daffin, Frappier, Turner & Engel, LLP.
The law firm says its transition to a new name will be a gradual process that takes place throughout the year. In a press statement, the law firm said “all of the named principals will remain with the firm.”

The Dallas-based firm also announced the hiring of two new senior attorneys this week—Steve Turner and Brian Engel. The new additions are reflected in the firm’s name change. Both new hires were partners at McGinnis, Lochridge & Kilgore, LLP—one of the largest law firms in Texas. In his former role, Turner led the firm’s bankruptcy practice, while Engel specialized in several areas that included class action defense litigation and consumer bankruptcy cases in which creditors were named as defendants.
“We are thrilled that Steve and Brian have joined our firm,” said Mary Daffin, the firm’s managing partner. “We are constantly working to enhance the services we provide to our clients and the quality and character of the people that provide them. Steve and Brian bring a depth of experience that will help us represent our clients effectively and competently in the bankruptcy courts. We are excited about the joinder of these seasoned professionals. Their experience in team-building and training will be most important in the current era.”
The firm says its new senior attorneys will open up an office in Austin, Texas and lead its bankruptcy practice across Texas.
