Fannie Mae Elects New Board Member

Fannie Mae has elected John C. Sites Jr., a veteran mortgage and financial services industry professional, to its Board of Directors. As a member of the Board, Sites will oversee many issues while serving as a member of the Board’s Housing and Community Finance and Risk Policy and Capital Committees.

Fannie Mae says Sites is a consultant to Wexford Capital LLC, and a general partner at Rock Creek Partners II, Ltd. He previously spent 14 years at Bear, Stearns & Company Inc., where he served as an executive vice president and Board Member. Sites also spent time as a general partner for the Daystar Special Situations Fund.
“John’s broad financial and mortgage market background will be important assets for the company and our shareholders,” said Stephen B. Ashley, chairman of the Fannie Mae Board. “He will be an important addition to our Board and to Fannie Mae as the company executes on its business strategy and plan during this critical time in the housing market.”
