First American Exchange Co. LLC, a company that handles customers’ tax-deferred exchanges and an arm of The First American Family of Companies,
has named attorney Mary Kay Kennedy senior vice president. In her new position, Kennedy will oversee First American Exchange Company’s Northern California region.
Kennedy, who most recently served First American Exchange in the role of vice president and counsel for the Northern California region, has 23 years of experience in real estate law.
Prior to joining First American Exchange in 2003, Mary worked at two San Francisco law firms and served MetLife as an assistant general counsel.
Kennedy, who holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a juris doctor from Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, also has served as chair of The State Bar of California’s Real Property Law Section, managing editor of the California Real Property Journal, and on the Board of the Commercial Real Estate Women organization in San Francisco.
