A dramatic increase in foreclosures nationwide has prompted several regulatory agencies to launch a series of programs designed to help distressed borrowers living in the states of Arizona, California,
and Nevada.
Since education is often the first line of defense against foreclosure, several agencies, including the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, the Office of the Comptroller of Currency, the Office of Swift Supervision, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., have launched a series of information sessions for troubled homeowners living in the western United States.
In a press statement about the events, the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco said, “These sessions will focus on collaborative solutions for borrowers and neighborhoods affected by foreclosures.”
The information sessions will reach the following cities on the following dates:
San Francisco, California: May 30, 2007
Fresno, California: May 31, 2007
San Diego, California: June 6, 2007
Las Vegas, Nevada: June 7, 2007
Los Angeles, California: June 20, 2007
Phoenix, Arizona: June 28, 2007
