Homeownership Preservation Foundation (HPF), a national nonprofit organization dedicated to foreclosure prevention counseling and preserving homeownership in the United States, has named Barrett Burns, president and CEO of VantageScore Solutions, to its board of directors.

“The current board and staff of HPF are delighted to welcome Barrett Burns as the newest member of our board of directors,” said Colleen Hernandez, CEO of HPF. “The foundation looks to extend its reach and engage new leaders who support our mission to provide assistance and solutions-focused counseling to financially-distressed homeowners.”

Burns joined the independent mortgage company VantageScore Solutions in 2005 and has more than 30 years’ professional experience in risk and credit management. In addition, he has held various senior leadership positions at major financial institutions, including Citibank, U.S. Trust, Ford Motor Credit, and Bank One.

“I’m honored to serve with the Homeownership Preservation Foundation at a time when many Americans are facing foreclosure,” said Burns. “Avoiding foreclosure benefits the homeowner but also lowers losses for the mortgage sector and helps the economy.”
