HOPE LoanPort Launches Consumer-Based Web Site

In order to bring high-tech loan modification solutions direct to consumers, HOPE LoanPort has launched a new,

consumer-based Web site – HopeLoanPortal.org. According to a statement by the organization, this site will complement HOPE LoanPort’s web-based housing counselor tool that is designed to streamline submission of completed loan modification applications.

HOPE LoanPort, which was developed by the Washington, D.C.- based HOPE NOW Alliance, said its new Web site is the premiere destination for homeowners seeking information on loan modifications, links to industry and

government foreclosure-prevention resources, and easy access to a self-assessment form to determine potential qualification for a loan modification through Treasury’s Home Affordable Modification Program.

In addition, the organization said the site provides educational information to assist borrowers, and it has a channel to help link troubled homeowners with the nonprofit counseling community.

“Our goal with HopeLoanPortal.org is to allow at-risk homeowners to directly assess their ability to qualify for a loan modification, assist them in identifying non-profit housing counseling assistance, and work with the counseling community to provide full modification packages using the HOPE LoanPort portal,” said Larry Gilmore, CEO of HOPE LoanPort.

According to Gilmore, there has never been a web-based homeowner resource as comprehensive as HopeLoanPortal.org. He said HOPE LoanPort is singing qualified HUD-certified counselors trained in foreclosure prevention and gaining counselor participation at a record pace. Currently, the organization has the support of nine major mortgage servicers and more than 250 non-profit housing counseling agencies.
