Maponics Selected to Provide Boundary Data for LPS Real Estate Group Platforms

Maponics, a Norwich, Vermont-based provider of location-based data and information, announced Tuesday that it has been chosen by the Lender Processing Services (LPS) Real Estate Group, headquartered in Irvine, California, to provide the boundary data required to enable local searching of its property databases.

Through the new partnership with LPS, Maponics neighborhood and ZIP code boundary data will be used by all ZIP code and neighborhood-based searches, maps, and analytics provided through LPS Real Estate Group’s desktop and Web-based information distribution.

“We’re excited about this new partnership with Maponics, because it helps our users pull accurate, community-level

information from our database of millions of properties nationwide,” said John Hensley, chief product and technology officer for LPS Real Estate Group. “Choosing the best local map data provider was important to us, because real estate professionals know their neighborhoods like the back of their hand.”

Maponics has always had a strong foothold in the real estate space because companies need to present listings and housing information in a context that consumers understand, Darrin Clement, CEO of Maponics, told DSNews.com. While the company has worked with LPS in different capacities over the past few years, the new partnership with the Real Estate Group will be a longer-term relationship, he said.

When LPS implements the data provided by Maponics, Cement said the ultimate winner will be the consumer. As a result of the agreement between LPS and Maponics, consumers will be able to find properties in ways that haven’t been typical in the past five to 10 years, he explained.

“When you think about the different players in the real estate space and those that have a real knee in the curve of trajectory for growth in the next few years, LPS has got to be near the top of your list, if not the top,” Clement said. “LPS is a great company that we really want to hitch our wagon to.”
