According to PR Newswire, Michigan Governor Jennifer M. Granhom announced recently that grants totaling $2,168,400 have been awarded to 18 nonprofit organizations through
the Michigan State Housing Development Authority from the Michigan Housing and Community Development Fund (MHCDF).
“Our vision is to provide affordable housing opportunities to all while transforming the Michigan economy. These grants are helping to make that vision a reality, “Gov. Granhom said.” MSHDA’s program is a core piece of our economic strategy and will advance the quality of life in Michigan’s cities, towns, and villages, making them healthy, strong, and vibrant.”

_ – Avalon Housing, Ann Arbor, Michigan, $300,000Community Housing Network in Troy, Michigan, $31,800 – Eastside LAND Inc. in Detroit, Michigan, $250,000 – Habitat for Humanity of Bay County, $34,000 – Habitat for Humanity of Detroit, $162,408 – Habitat for Humanity of Genesse County, $60,000 – Habitat for Humanity of Kent County, $60,000 – Habitat for Humanity of Lansing, $24,342 – Habitat for Humanity of Macomb County, $33,000 – Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County, $17,000 – Habitat for Humanity of Muskegon County, $8,350 – Harbor Habitat for Humanity, $100,000 – Housing Resources Inc. in Kalamazoo, Michigan, $50,000 – Mid Michigan Community Action Agency in Farwell Michigan, $262,800 – Southwest Housing Solutions in Detroit, Michigan, $300,000 – Venture Inc.-Gateway Manor in Pontiac, Michigan, $119,000 – Village View Housing Partners in East Lansing, Michigan, $300,000 – West Michigan Therapy in Muskegon, Michigan, $50,000
“These grants will leverage nearly $15 million in additional investment in cities, towns, and villages across the state,” said MSHDA executive director Keith Molin. “The Program is endorsed by more than 25 statewide trade organizations representing more than 5,000 members and MSHDA is thrilled to be playing a key role in a mission so critical to Michigan’s economic recovery.”
