MSI Taps Baker for EVP Post

Mortgage Specialist International L.L.C. (MSI), in Dallas, Texas, has named Barry Baker its executive vice president. As the new EVP, Baker will have a direct role in almost every facet of the company and will manage all day-to-day operations at MSI.
Baker brings to MSI 21 years of experience in commercial and residential finance. Prior to joining MSI, he was VP of default servicing at Colonial Savings for 11 years, where he was responsible for the loan counseling, loss mitigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy, claims, property preservation, default reporting, asset risk management, and REO departments. Prior to his employment with Colonial, Baker was the commercial/residential asset manager at National Finance Credit Corporation of Texas for nine years. Baker holds the title of Certified Mortgage Banker from the Mortgage Bankers Association. He has received numerous servicing awards during his time in the industry, including Freddie Mac’s “Business Hall of Fame” award from 2003-2005. He is an active member of USFN-America’s Mortgage Banking Attorneys, the American Legal & Financial Network (AFN), and REOMAC. Baker also conducts numerous educational workshops for the mortgage industry and many non-profit groups each year.
