NAWRB Launches Nonprofit Program

Since its inception in August 2009, the National Association of Women REO Brokerages (NAWRB) has been seeking to launch a nonprofit program. That goal was realized this week with the official incorporation of the NAWRB Community Enhancement program.

This nonprofit venture is dedicated to developing infrastructure for parks and community centers in neighborhoods strongly affected by the nation’s growing foreclosure rate. In addition, the NAWRB Community Enhancement program strives to improve the living conditions of both families currently residing in significantly foreclosed regions and buyers who are purchasing homes within these areas.

“We want to help families living in partially vacated neighborhoods who are watching their parks and community centers deteriorate and succumb to neglect,” said Jisela Osorio, NAWRB correspondent.

As part of the initial launch, NAWRB has initiated donations with several community parks in the Southern California area. Currently, though, there are more communities interested in the program than there are available resources.

To continue to assist these foreclosure-ridden neighborhoods, NAWRB said it needs help and is requesting donations from companies within the distressed property industry. With the help of its members and participating companies, the association has plans to expand the operation to encompass communities on a national scale.

“We are utilizing our members nationwide to help advise our donations,” Osorio explained. “We look to our members to become involved and help improve neighborhoods across the country. We are reaching out to as many areas as we can.”
