NewOak Capital Appoints General Counsel and Managing Director

The Manhattan-based asset management and capital markets firm NewOak Capital has announced the appointment of Rachel Gould as both general counsel and managing director, focusing on expansion of the company’s solutions and advisory platform, which provides analytical and portfolio construction services to institutional investors and managers.

“Rachel’s legal and financial expertise, combined with her client-focused approach, are in line with our focus on delivering value-added solutions, restructuring, and

advisory services to the financial institutions globally,” said Ron D’Vari, CEO and co-founder of NewOak Capital.

With12 years’ experience, Gould spent the majority of her career at national law firms representing financial institutions in the structuring and closing of mortgage loan transactions for securitization in the capital markets, as well as the acquisition, disposition, restructuring, workout, and foreclosure of loans.

She has unique expertise representing financial institutions and other transaction participants in construction, permanent, acquisition and bridge financings, mezzanine loans, equity funding, syndicated facilities, and other structured finance transactions, including project finance matters.

Prior to joining NewOak Capital, Gould was an attorney with Eckert Seamans in Boston where she concentrated her practice on the representation of banks, investors, hedge funds, investment banking institutions, businesses, developers, landlords, tenants, and individual property owners in all areas of financial and commercial real estate transactions. Additionally, Gould served as outside general counsel to a number of privately held businesses.
