A few short months after Integrated Mortgage Solutions (IMS) President Cheryl Lang conceptualized the idea of starting a Web site to help pets left behind in
foreclosures, her new nonprofit Web site No Paws Left Behind (www.NoPawsLeftBehind.org) has officially launched to give families with pets a place to find security for their furry friends.
Lang designed No Paws Left Behind as a 501c3 nonprofit organization, where visitors can type in their zip codes and find local animal shelters and other housing options for the animals they can’t afford to take with them. Lang also has created an online petition that encourages citizens to ask policy makers to change laws that are currently delaying the animal rescue process when dealing with foreclosures.
“Outdated legislation prevents the removal of pets from abandoned properties prior to the eviction process, placing code inspection officers in a difficult position,” No Paws Left Behind said in a press statement. “As such, No Paws Left Behind established a petition on its Web site with the goal of repealing this law on the national level. Visitors to the No Paws Left Behind Web site will find resources for locating local No Kill animal shelters, foster care for pets in need of temporary care and pet deposit assistance when borrowers are forced to relocate. The site also provides a resource for qualified animal shelters and foster care providers to seek financial assistance.”
