Pacific Union International, Inc., a real estate firm headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, announced Monday the appointment of Patrick Barber as president of the company.

In his new position, Barber will be responsible for executing the company’s San Francisco growth strategies, including office expansion, recruiting, and marketing. He will oversee the firm’s two San Francisco offices, comprised of nearly 100 professionals.
“I look at this as a once in a life time opportunity to join and lead an amazing team of San Francisco professionals, an exceptional brand and newly-invigorated, entrepre-
neurial company,” Barber said. “I have been watching the development of Pacific Union International since its return to local ownership last summer, and I am truly excited to be a part of this amazing company.”
Barber has nearly 20 years’ experience as a top-producing sales professional and executive level manager in the residential real estate industry. He joins Pacific Union International from Sotheby’s International Realty’s San Francisco headquarters, where he was SVP and managing broker since 1998.
During his tenure with Sotheby’s, Barber led a team of 130 agents who attained accomplishment such as highest average sales price, highest per agent gross sales, and selling five of the 12 most expensive Bay Area properties in a single year.
Prior to joining Sotheby’s, he received the highest honor in residential real estate sales-ranking No.1 in the top 1 percent internationally with the nation’s largest residential real estate firm.
“Patrick Barber is a dynamic and proven leader, highly respected, and results oriented,” said Mark A. McLaughlin, CEO of Pacific Union International. “Mr. Barber’s accomplishments dovetail perfectly with Pacific Union International’s growth objectives within San Francisco and ultimately throughout Northern California.”
