Anthony “Buddy” Piszel has been named CFO and treasurer of The First American Corporation.
Piszel’s new responsibilities include overseeing First American’s financial
reporting group, capital markets activities and investor relations.
Piszel most recently served as EVP and CFO of Freddie Mac for the past 18 months, and he’s a 20-year veteran of finance. He spent two years as CFO for Health Net, Inc. and more than a decade in senior financial positions at Prudential Financial, Inc., including SVP and corporate controller, CFO of the individual life insurance business and CFO of the asset management and retirement business.
While at Prudential, Piszel was a leader in transforming Prudential from private company to a public, SEC-registered company.

Piszel earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Rutgers University and an M.B.A. from Golden Gate University, and serves on the board of directors of RehabCare Group, Inc. and is chairman of that company’s audit committee.
