As the number of homes in default and foreclosure increase across the nation, professionals in mortgage field services are expected to find themselves handling more complex issues on the front lines—especially
in the areas of property preservation and inspections.
To ensure excellence in the delivery of these services, The Society of Independent Representatives (or SIRs)—an organization designed to ensure and encourage professional ethics in the field of servicing—has rolled out a new Mortgage Field Services Specialist exam that will cover the many issues related to both property preservation and inspections.
SIRs also announced the addition of a new membership or certification level. “The Certified Membership is now available to field reps who successfully become SIRs Certified for the services they provide and have a clear criminal background. The new level is a basic membership to recognize the knowledge of field reps who choose to be SIRs certified,” SIRs said in a statement.
The membership is priced at $75 per year and includes savings related to E&O insurance, as well as the Insurance-Tek programs.
The development of the new certification stems from the success of the Property Preservation Certification that SIRs rolled out four years ago.
“The release of these two new certification exams is anticipated to further assist with providing a more professional pool of field reps available to service the growing inventories of delinquent loans and foreclosed properties,” SIRs said.
