Stewart Information Services Corp. was named by Forbes as one of the Top 100 Most Trustworthy Companies in America, the company announced in a release.

The selection was made based on an audit of 8,000 companies listed on the U.S. stock exchanges.

Independent financial analytics company, GMI Ratings, selected the top 100 companies based on analysis assessing the quality of corporate accounting and management practices. Factors that weighed into the evaluation included executive pay levels, management turnover, accounting practices, and positive and negative events surrounding the company, among other factors.

Qualifying factors included market caps of $250 million or more as of March 13, 2012, and a “conservative” or “average” accounting and governance risk score (AGR) for four consecutive quarters.
