The LOGS Network, a consortium of default-related law firms providing legal and outsourcing solutions for the residential mortgage and consumer credit industries, announced Wednesday that the law firm of Baxter, Schwartz & Shapiro, LLP has joined the network.
Baxter, Schwartz & Shapiro is a new venture created by the established firms of Brown & Shapiro, LLP and Baxter & Schwartz, PC. It will be headquartered in Houston, Texas, to serve mortgage servicing clients in the areas of foreclosure, bankruptcy, eviction, home retention, collection, closing, and title services. Christopher Baxter and Kirk Schwartz will be the managers of the new firm. Baxter began his legal career at GE Capital Mortgage in 1997, and formed Baxter & Schwartz in 2000. He is an active member of the Texas and Arkansas Bars, the Mortgage Bankers Association, and the Texas and California Mortgage Bankers Associations. Baxter holds a degree in military history from Texas A&M University and a law degree from Texas Southern University. He is licensed to practice in both Texas and Arkansas. Schwartz has been specializing in the mortgage banking industry for nine years.
He is a member of the Texas Bar, the Mortgage Bankers Association, and the Texas and California Mortgage Bankers Associations. He received his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University and his law degree from Texas Southern University. Schwartz began his legal career in private practice and went into business with Baxter in 2000.
