Wells Fargo Names New Chief Administrative Officer

Wells Fargo & Company has promoted its EVP, Tim Sloan, to chief administrative officer.

In this newly created role, Sloan assumes leadership of the company’s brand, reputation management, stakeholder engagement, and people development efforts. He also takes command of corporate communications, corporate social responsibility, enterprise marketing, government relations, and human resources.

Prior to accepting his new post, Sloan served as the San Francisco-based bank’s head of commercial banking, real estate, and specialized financial services, overseeing operations within the wholesale banking group that provided credit and non-credit products and services to more than 40,000 customers worldwide.

“Tim has demonstrated the kind of business acumen and leadership that inspires teams to higher levels of performance,” said John G. Stumpf, Wells Fargo’s chairman, president, and CEO. “He is a trustworthy and effective ambassador for the company, having cultivated long-term relationships with many valued clients. He listens as well as leads, and he lives Wells Fargo’s customer-focused culture.”

Sloan has more than 25 years of corporate, commercial, and real estate banking experience. A Wells Fargo employee since 1987, Sloan has also held roles as the group head of specialized financial services and EVP/division manager of the Real Estate Merchant Banking division within the Capital Markets group.

Sloan holds bachelor’s degrees in economics and history and an MBA in finance and accounting from the University of Michigan.
