The Colorado Mortgage Lenders Association (CMLA [1]) has named Erik Anderson as its new president.

Anderson had been serving as the vice president of sales for LenderLive's GuardianDocs unit since 2009. He has been on the CMLA board of directors since 2011 and has been actively involved with the organization since 2009. He is a graduate of CMLA's Mortgage Leadership Program and the 2011 MBA Future Leaders Program.

At age 35, Anderson is the youngest president in CMLA's 58-year history.

"Erik is an exceptional leader, but, more importantly, he has always been an active and enthusiastic participant in the things that matter to him," said Jonathan Kunkle, president of GuardianDocs. "His involvement in CMLA is a great example. We're extremely proud of Erik being selected to lead CMLA and feel they couldn't have made a better choice. Under his watch, we can be sure to expect great things from this excellent organization."

Anderson's responsibilities with CMLA in his new position will be making decisions regarding long-term strategy and ensuring the organization's fiscal health.  He will continue to lead the Mortgage Lenders Program, which he has done for the past two years, and will continue to support several of the CMLA's committees (finance, membership, forum, and legislative).

The biggest challenge for Anderson will be instituting the board of governors' five-year plan, which includes strategic initiatives regarding tangible benefits for CMLA's members as well as educational outreach and charitable community outreach.
