""A primary objective for the redesign was to create a search experience that places more information in the hands of both Realtors and consumers, supported by technology that enables Move to make fluid platform innovations that keep pace with today's rapidly changing marketplace,"" said Steve Berkowitz, CEO of Move, Inc, said in a press release yesterday.

Berkowitz continued, ""Today's launch of the redesigned site solidifies our position as the trusted source for easy to find accurate information consumers need to meet their real estate goals. The new site also empowers real estate professionals to be clearly positioned as local experts in a manner that keeps them central to real estate transactions.""

Updates to the site include visibility and access to live listings. There is a feature that allows for viewing of new construction, rentals, and recently sold properties. Users of the site can search all these things and more directly from the search box on the Realtor.com home page.

Another new feature is the Spotlight module, which is a content-driven widget that is continually updated so visitors can remain current on site features, market information and technology developed by Move. Visitors to the site can also use Spotlight to access Realtor.com's free home valuation service.

Site listing detail pages now provide at-a-glance summaries of each property listing that display home price and lot size, number of rooms, interior and exterior features of the property, number of days the property has been on the site and more.

An interactive map feature provides estimated values of neighboring properties, and driving directions to properties, as well as the location of nearby neighborhood amenities including restaurants, schools, and libraries.

Site users can connect with local real estate agents by using the redesigned Find A Realtor feature on the new ""Find Realtors"" landing page. The feature allows users to sort by specific qualities or company names. Agents and brokers can make their own profiles for the Find Realtors page for free and share professional information and company details, as well as links to Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites.

Realtor.com is operated by Move, Inc. and offers visitors to the site access to more than four million property listings, as well as brokers and agents.
