Midwest Firm Offers Service to Speed Up Fannie Mae Short Sales

Midwest Real Estate Data (MRED) has teamed up with Fannie Mae to provide its brokers and agents with a service designed to shorten the time they have to wait for approval from the GSE on short sale transactions. MRED provides property listing services in northern Illinois, southern Wisconsin, and northwest Indiana. This week, the company announced the availability of the Fannie Mae Short Sale Assistance Desk for its coverage area. The tool has already been employed by MLSs in Florida and Nevada, and agents there are seeing the benefits.

Keller Williams Realty to Launch Agent Business Platform

Keller Williams Realty will launch what it calls "the real estate industry's first complete lead-to-close business solution" for every agent in the company. The first phase of the solution, eEdge, will officially launch at Keller Williams' annual convention next month. It will enable agents to funnel and maintain all their contacts, leads, and clients in one database, as well as develop and distribute marketing and sales materials and manage Web sites and listings -- all through a single system.

The real estate downturn has sent home prices tumbling, inflated housing inventories, and prompted stimulus programs that have pushed mortgage rates to record lows and given homebuyers tax breaks and cash incentives. Undoubtedly, it's a buyers' market. A new study released by J.D. Power and Associates Wednesday confirms that with today's bargain-basement market conditions, homebuyers are giving their real estate experiences a thumbs-up. Sellers, on the other hand, aren't nearly as pleased once the deal is done.
